- After the first coat has dried, sand lightly with 220 grit sandpaper. This is not to remove the previous layer but to create a slightly porous effect so that the next coat adheres properly. Once you’ve sanded your item, use a vacuum to remove the dust.
- Repeat step two. Depending on how many coats are recommended, you may have to repeat steps three and four too before you’re done.
Step 3: Finishing Up
- Once you have applied your final coat, allow your piece to dry completely before touching it.
- Thoroughly wash your sprayer and allow it to dry before storing it.
- When your item has dried, move to its final home. Then disassemble the spray tent and tidy up any floor cloths that were used.
