Bosch CLPK495A-181 Review Summary:
Bosch tools are a synonym for power tools all around the globe. The company has been manufacturing all kinds of machines and devices designed to make hard jobs more manageable. They are responsible for many innovations that completely transformed the way we look at power tools.
Combo toolkits are a standard offer for most manufacturers. Getting tools in bulk is not only more affordable, but you will also have everything you could possibly need to get most DIY home improvement jobs done. That brings us to the CLPK495A-181 4-tool Combo kit by Bosch.
It’s got four of the most widely used tools like the drill/driver, reciprocating saw, impact driver, and a convenient work light. You will be able to make difficult cuts in no time, drilling and driving screws will also become much more comfortable. These tools have some handy features designed for even more comfort, but they also have plenty of power to get most light and medium applications done. So, if you’re looking for a cordless tool set with only some necessary tools and a nice looking carry kit, this could be the one for you.

Bosch CLPK495A-181 4-tool Combo Kit – The Basics
You can see right away that Bosch tools have both quality and durability. They feel sturdy and sit well in hand. The handles are ergonomic and have a soft, anti-slip coating for a firm grip. They also have belt clips, so you can attach them to your tool belt when you don’t need them.
All of the devices come in a handy Bosch carry case and organizer. Every purchase also includes two 2.0 Ah batteries and a fast charger. Depending on the task at hand, you can expect the tools to work for about 30 to 45 minutes on a single charge. The Drill/Driver is as good as they come! It’s got lots of torque and a short head for improved control. The impact driver provides up to 3,200 impacts per minute and 2,800 RPM. There is little it can’t do.
Our favorite tool in this Bosch tool set is the Reciprocating saw. It looks different than most other similar saws on the market. It’s got a compact design and features like the variable speed trigger and toolless blade change system. Last but not least, we have the GLI18V-420 work light that has a powerful LED bulb. It outputs 420 lumens, more than what you need to illuminate a dark room. Let’s take a close look at each device.
DDS181A Compact Drill Driver
The first tool in the box is the 1/2 Inch Drill/Driver. It weighs only 2.62 lbs, so it’s one of the most compacts in the category. It’s got a three jaw chuck with 1/16″ – 1/2″ capacity. The reason why this device is so popular on the market is the motor. It can produce up to 1,900 RPM and 560 in.lbs. of torque. That’s enough to get most drilling and screw driving jobs are done in seconds. The motor is protected by a unique protection system that prevents overload. When working in low light conditions, the LED light illuminates the work area, making sure you get ideal results every time.
25618 Hex Impact Driver
The 25618 Hex Impact Driver is one of the smallest tools we’ve seen so far. The head is only 5.7 inches long, so it can fit in some tighter spaces where other, standard sized models couldn’t. It weighs 3 lbs, so it’s easy to control and doesn’t cause any fatigue. The small motor has plenty of power to offer. It can produce up to 1,500 in.lbs. of torque and 2,800 rotations per minute. When used to drive impacts, it produces up to 3,200 IPM, which is quite impressive. The 1/4 Hex drive allows easy bit-changes without any extra tools. The LED light is located just above the trigger, and it’s just what you need for additional accuracy.
GSA18V-083 Reciprocating Saw
Our favorite tool in the batch is the Reciprocating saw. It’s a bit heavier than the other tools with 4.4 lbs, but it’s also very powerful and has a wide range of application. The saw can make up to 3,050 strokes per minute. The blade makes 0,83″ strokes, and the saw is powerful enough for cutting wood and metal. The tool-less blade change system allows you to make quick blade changes and get back to your work in seconds. Extra precision when starting the cutting is available because of the variable speed trigger. It also has a built-in LED light. The switch hook is there to improve comfort and reduce fatigue as you work the saw for extended periods.
Worklights are a standard feature of many different combo kits, but they are often too weak to really make a difference. The GLI18V-420 worklight, on the other hand, is entirely different. It’s got 420 lumens of light and a swiveling stand. The beam is adjustable, and it can be very bright if needed. A single charge will provide you with 13.5 hours of light.
Accessories and warranty
Every purchase comes with a limited 2-year warranty, a standard for most power tools on the market. Apart from the tools, you will receive two 2.0 Ah batteries, a charger, and a great looking bag. The blades and bits for the devices are also included.
4 great tools
Versatile reciprocating saw
4.0 Ah batteries would be better
Things we liked about it
We like Bosch tools because they usually deliver as advertised. We did some rigorous testing and the tools performed as promised. The reciprocating saw has enough power to cut through metal pipes. We also liked the built-in LED lights and other useful features.
Things we didn’t like
We didn’t really like the 2.0 Ah batteries. Not that there’s something wrong with them, it’s just that we feel that they are not powerful enough and deplete quickly.
What Users Say About The Bosch CLPK495A-181
82 percent of Amazon users rated this product with 5 starts. They love the impact driver, and some of them even stopped using cordlike tools altogether. The asking price is also estimated as fair by most users.
If you need a couple of power tools to use around the house from time to time, this 4-piece tool kit by Bosch could be a great pick. It’s got three of the most widely used tools, and it comes with a couple of 2.0 Ah batteries and a charger. All of the devices have some handy features that will make most DIY projects much more comfortable. You even get a very powerful LED worklight, so you can get things done in the middle of the night if you have to.
