Review Summary:

Kobalt’s powertools have seen some significant changes recently. The most notable of which is their switch to the 24V Max Brushless platform. So far, the feedback has been nothing but praise.

With their new and improved brushless technology, user-friendly design and pocket-friendly prices, they are able to compete with heavy-weight brands such as Milwaukee and DeWalt. The brushless motors are a guarantee of longer work life and better performance.

The new batteries are a piece of art themselves. Kobalt’s engineers have done a great job of placing part of the battery circuitry within the tools and realigning the cells. That way, the tools deliver more power, hold a charge much longer, and all of that without compromising the size and weight.

This particular kit consists of a hammer drill and a 1/4-in impact driver. They are great for delicate work both in a professional or home environment. Each tool comes with a five-year limited warranty while the battery comes with a three-year limited warranty.

The kit consists of a 1/2″ brushless, cordless hammer drill, 1/4″ brushless cordless impact driver, a 24V 4.0 Ah Li-Ion battery, contractor’s bag, and a charger. Typically, whether you’re buying a bigger or smaller combo kit, you are sure to get a low-end drill. However, with this one, you’re certainly getting a top-notch hammer drill.

This 1/2-in 24V Max Brushless, Cordless hammer drill, is much appreciated by both contractors and DIYers. It is a proper power tool as it comes with a 1/2″ keyless clutch and a 24-setting clutch. It also features a nice, rubberized over-mold, which allows for comfortable and prolonged use.

The unit has a two-speed gearbox and a variable speed trigger. It allows you to set the speed and torque to your liking. The lower gear offers more torque at a slow speed, and the higher gear is faster but more suitable for application that doesn’t need much torque. The unit has enough power to go through any task without bogging down.

The 1/4-in impact driver comes with a quick release collet and a brushless motor that delivers up to 1,800 “/lbs of torque. Just like the other tool,it also has a variable speed trigger. However, it has a three-speed gearbox.

The lower gear delivers 0 to 850 RPMs, while the high gears go from 0 to 2,000 RPM and 2,700 RPM, respectively. Another notable feature of the tool is its finish function that increases productivity and relinquishes the chances of marring. It also allows the user to set the fasteners to the correct depth.

Each power tool in the kit has a built-in LED light that comes in handy in dimly lit areas. The battery is pretty impressive as it has a built-in fuel gauge and offers two and a half times longer runtime than the older models of the same manufacturer.
