Milwaukee 2696-26 – The Basics
The 2607-20 hammer drill operates on a 4-pole frameless engine, and its size allows one to use it even in the tightest spaces. The 2630-20 circular saw, on the other hand, operates on a powerful 3,500 RPM engine and is great for plumbing, carpentry, framing, and other applications.
The 1/4″ hex impact driver, code-named 2656-20, works like a charm due to its frameless motor and optimized impact mechanism. The 2680-20 cut-off/grinder spins the disc at the speed of 9,000 RPM and can be used for both cutting and grinding.
Another tool in this combo kit is the 2621-20 reciprocating saw, which has an all-metal gearing and a counter-balance mechanism that takes care of vibrations. The last member of the set is the 2753-20 LED work light, which is a well-designed job site lamp delivering 160 lumens of bright light.
All of these tools are accompanied by a multi-voltage charger, M18 battery, contractor bag, and five years of limited warranty.
Hammer Drill/Driver 2607-20
One of the best power tools in the kit, the 2607-20 is a potent 1/2″ hammer drill/driver that works like a charm. The main reason behind this is in the fact that it operates on Milwaukee’s proprietary frameless 4-pole engine with a peak torque of 500 in-lbs.
Besides the impressive performance, 2607-20 also has a compact (7-3/4″ long) and lightweight (3 pounds) design. Its metal chuck and all-metal gear case provide maximum protection against impact damage and harsh job site conditions.
Circular Saw 2630-20
Just like all other Milwaukee M18 power tools, this circular saw sports a design of premium quality. Manufactured from rugged materials and featuring magnesium upper and lower guards, it easily withstands abusive situations and the usual daily wear and tear.
The unit’s potent motor spins the blade at the impressive speed of 3,500 RPM. The depth is adjustable up to 1-1/2″ and the angle up to 45 degrees. The electronic brake is also present – the blade will stop spinning the moment you’re done with cutting.
Impact Driver 2656-20
Next up is the 2656-20 1/4″ hex impact driver, which is yet another well-designed and high-performing member of this combo kit. It is one of the most compact devices in the toolset and comes with features such as the LED light and an all-metal belt clip for quick storage.
Like many other tools in the kit, it also has a frameless 4-pole engine at its heart. It delivers 1,500 in-lbs of fastening torque and turns this impact driver into an excellent choice for professionals and hobbyists alike.
Due to its dimensions of 16.1″ x 6.7″ x 5.3″ and the weight of close to 6 pounds, this grinder is a relatively compact power tool that allows overhead operation. However, one of the best things about its design is that it sports a paddle switch, which provides better control and can be easily used even in the most awkward positions.
The model’s engine spins the disc at the impressive speed of 9,000 revolutions per minute, turning it into an ideal choice for masons, welders, and metal workers.
Reciprocating Saw 2621-20
Milwaukee advertises this reciprocating saw as a model that combines unmatched run-time, durability, and speed. All of this is true – it’s an exceptionally well-designed and potent device, just like most other Milwaukee M18 power tools.
The unit’s all-metal gear case and gearing provide unmatched durability, while its counter-balance mechanism successfully reduces vibrations and provides better control over the operation. There’s also the company’s signature QUIK-LOK clamp mechanism, which ensures quick and easy blade swapping.
LED Work Light 2735-20
Manufactured from reinforced materials and having a rubberized grip on its handle, the 2735-20 is a well-designed job site lamp that rounds off the deal. It’s a lightweight (12.2 ounces) model that is very easy to maneuver with, especially when we consider its adjustable (135°) head.
The model provides 160 lumens of bright lighting and will allow you to use all other tools in total darkness. Hands-free use is ensured by the presence of a flat base and an integrated swiveling hook.
Accessories & Warranty
Besides the tools, the 2696-20 M18 combo kit also contains a multi-voltage charger (48-59-1812), an M18 REDLITHIUM XC battery, and a handy contractor bag. As always, the tools in the kit are covered by Milwaukee’s standard 5-year warranty, which is among the most generous warranty deals on the market.

Things we liked about it
The best thing about this combo kit is that it allows handymen to update their workshops with well-designed and high-performing power tools. Each tool in the kit very easily handles the general workload and is a joy to work with thanks to the superior Milwaukee ergonomics.
Another great thing is that all tools are members of the same family – M18. In other words, they can all be used with the same battery (included in the package) and this interchangeability is precisely what most professionals look for when buying a combo kit.
Things we didn’t like
Unfortunately, the 2696-26 M18 toolset is quite expensive – Milwaukee is a renowned brand and their tools aren’t as cheap as those manufactured by many other companies. Our only other complaint is the fact that the kit comes without a sturdy plastic carrying case, but rather with one made from a textile material.
Both the professional contractors and DIY enthusiasts who bought this combo kit are very pleased with the construction quality and performance of the included tools. They praise the user-friendly design of each tool and greatly appreciate the interchangeability of the included M18 battery. The users are also very fond of the generous 5-year warranty which covers the devices in this kit.
If money is not a problem for you, the Milwaukee 2696-26 M18 toolset is a purchase you certainly won’t regret. Containing six ergonomically-designed and powerful cordless machines, it is a combo kit that doesn’t skimp on features and allows one to update his workshop with some of the best power tools out there.
