Grandfalls Pressure Washer Plus+ Review

Finding a domestic power cleaner that seeks to emulate the mighty grunt exhibited by the pro-grade units may seem impossible — yet, the Grandfalls Pressure Washer Plus+
comes close.

Not just knocking out a brawny 2200 psi, this unit arrives with four effortlessly interchangeable nozzles — permitting you to tailor the output power to your target. Furthermore, with well-designed onboard storage for these tips — they’re unlikely to become lost or misplaced.

Uniquely wall-mounted, there’s no need to wheel or carry the unit out of the garage every time you want to clean your patio or give your prized ride the once over. And, with intelligent auto-stop and guided rewind, extending and retracting the 100-foot ultra-soft hose is a pleasure.

Its generous trigger permits four-finger operation — staving off job-shortening digit fatigue. Additionally, the pistol’s safety catch guards against accidental sprays and shields younger family members from playing with the unit while you’re not around.

This unit hails from Giraffe Tools — a China-based company with warehouses in the US and EU. The Pressure Washer Plus+ is the brand’s flagship domestic machine in its Grandfalls range, targeting the high-use home operator — a step below the Pressure Washer PRO model.

The Grandfalls Pressure Washer Range

Specialists in power washing, outdoor hoses, and garden/yard reels — the Grandfalls pressure washer range include four units. Catering from the intermittent user to the trade professional — the complete line-up is wall-mounted.

In addition to the Plus+ model, it offers:

Features and Benefits of the Grandfalls Pressure Washer Plus +

Having got our hands on this Giraffe Tools pressure washer — it was time to put the unit through its paces.

Always happy here at Tool Nerds HQ to find any excuse to crank up a mighty machine, have a serious play, and be allowed to call it a day’s work — it wasn’t long before we were blasting everything and anything in the office yard.

Anyway, away from the fun — and of course, always be sensible with a high-power pressure washer unless you want to lose an eye — here’s what we found.

Wall-Mounted

So, let’s get the least exciting feature outta the way first, at least, from a shooting everything to within an inch of its life perspective — its wall-mounting ability.

Unlike virtually all electric pressure washer units on the market — which tend either to be floor-standing or cart-mounted — the Pressure Washer Plus+ is wall-attachable.

Naturally, this comes with numerous benefits — the most advantageous being not having to lug the machine around your car or yard as you clean, tripping over wayward hoses and power cables in the process.

And pleasingly, the design boffins at Giraffe Tools have ensured everything comes with this jet wash machine to enable straight-outta-the-box wall-fixing — including mounting bracket, screws, plastic anchors, and even a mini spirit level.

Of course, the main downside is you need a garage or workshop to locate the high pressure washer — Mrs. Tool Nerds wouldn’t be too impressed if I fixed the unit in her prized kitchen. And also, you need a hose that has sufficient capacity to reach from the unit to your spraying location…

Replaceable 100-Foot Ultra-Soft Hose

Length matters — whether you’re in the bedroom, in Subway, or in my case, power spraying the Tool Nerds pickup.

Arriving with a 100-foot ultra-soft hose, the Pressure Washer Plus+ from Grandfalls offers sufficient length to reach a serious distance from the base unit. With my tool mounted just behind the garage door, it easily traversed the distance to my vehicle. And, the forgiving ultra-soft hose construction promises to defend against kinks, pinches, and wear.

But, the length was just the appetizer — I can’t remember a time when I last oohed and ahhed so much over a power washer hose.

The first thing that evoked a small yelp of pleasure was when I extended the hose and walked toward the pickup. Not only was it smooth and required little effort, but also a clever stop-anywhere system prevented it from trying to pull me back. Nice.

Yet, it was after I decided to draw back in the hose post-job that my biggest scream of delight occurred. A quick, sharp tug and the base unit begins its retraction. Ok, nothing special — many corded vacuum cleaners have that function — but as I walked towards the base unit as the hose shortened, I witnessed a thing of beauty.

A horizontal sliding cartridge design ensures that the reel spreads the hose evenly across the interior spindle. Meaning that when fully retracted, it appears as tidy and uniform as the moment of unboxing. Small things like that make life wonderful.

Nozzles

The British novelist George Orwell famously once said, two nozzles good four nozzles better (or something like that) — and in the case of the Grandfalls Pressure Washer+, he was right.

This electric power washer arrives complete with four nozzles:

  • Zero degrees — ultra power cleaning for patios and driveways.
  • 15 degrees — heavy-duty power for stubborn wheel rims.
  • 25 degrees — medium pressure for vehicles and exterior paintwork.
  • 40 degrees — low pressure for windows and doors.

And, a word of advice from someone who has used this machine — if you’re using it for the first time to clean your vehicle, start with the 25-degree medium power nozzle.

Naturally seeing myself as a veritable John Wick (or John McClane or John Wayne, depending on your age) — I obviously went for the mother-of-all-zero-degree-nozzle to give the pickup the once over. After nearly taking off the near-side wing mirror in the process, I decided this wasn’t the best idea I’d ever had.

After stepping the grunt down with a swift nozzle change, I was still impressed. The flow was pleasingly brawny, even on the mid-range hose end — and provided a constant and reliable flow. The back-road dried mud that had happily taken residence on my vehicle’s skirts and wheels effortlessly dropped off — and the spray was remarkably uniform.

So, in short, the unit has a wide range of output pressures depending on the nozzle — making the machine one of the best electric pressure washer units for all-around use. And, with convenient storage on the water inlet pipe — you’re unlikely to misplace these crucial components.

Trigger

Firm yet forgiving — a phrase that could be used to describe Henry Kissinger, my wife, or the trigger on the Pressure Washer Plus+ Grandfalls.

Its full four-finger capacity was generous enough to cope with even my troll-like hands. With welcome tactile feedback, it offers sufficient resistance to prevent accidental depression, but remains suitably easy to squeeze for extended periods without inducing digit fatigue.

When disengaged, I found it pleasing to discover that the pump auto shuts off — traditionally a feature on the best power washer units from high-end manufacturers. Thus, saving your electric bills and reducing wear and tear on the internal motor.

Furthermore, the trigger includes a welcome safety lock.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want too much safety in my tools — it’s the inherent danger that makes nail guns and chainsaws so darn attractive. But still, I don’t want my kids going on the ultimate water pistol rampage and shooting out the neighbor’s children’s eyes.

That’s why the safety catch is a pleasing inclusion. Not just preventing inquisitive tiny hands from having the water party of a lifetime, but also ensuring you don’t inadvertently set the machine off when extending the hose.

Included Accessories and Storage

The Grandfalls Washer Plus+ establishes itself as one of the best electric power washer units for non-pro users with its well-thought-out storage design. From the wall mounting of the main unit, to the nozzle retaining hose and pistol holster — the machine packs easily and safely away.

However, it was perhaps the multitude of pressure washer attachments that arrived with the tool that pleased me most on unboxing.

It comes complete with:

  • Four nozzles.
  • Nozzle cleaner.
  • Foam cannon.
  • Durable water inlet hose.
  • Mounting bracket, screws, and anchors.
  • Pressure gun lance.
  • Pressure gun handle.
  • Full instructions.

What Do Users of the Grandfalls Pressure Washer Plus+ Say?

I haven’t hidden the fact that I’m impressed with the Grandfalls wall mounted pressure washer. But then, anything that makes me feel like Al Pacino in Scarface is always going to be a winner.

So, to ensure this Pressure Washer Plus+ review is completely unbiased, I searched the views of other owners of this machine — to discover how this unit performs in the everyday world.

Reassuringly, the opinions touted by users were positive and generally in accordance with my own.

Operators of the Grandfalls P106-G50 praised its impressive power, extolled its effortless and practical extension and retraction feature, and welcomed the generous 100-foot hose.

Naturally, there were a couple of guys who weren’t completely won over.

One user criticized its noisy operation. Although it’s not quiet, it kinda makes me think this guy had never used a power washer before — they’re not exactly known for their silent motors.

Another naysayer pointed out that despite all the generous storage offered, the surplus power cord had no hideaways or mountings — meaning excess length was left to dangle. This is admittedly true, although it’s nothing that a few cable clips or even mains cable trimming couldn’t easily sort out.

However, all owners concurred that the Grandfalls Pressure Washer Plus + was a mighty machine that exceeded the grunt and convenience expected from a domestic-use unit.

Alternatives to the Grandfalls Pressure Washer Plus

If the Grandfalls Pressure Washer Plus+ isn’t exactly what you’re looking for in a pressure washer, fear not. Below are three excellent alternatives to satisfy your power washing demands.

If you’re loving the Giraffe brand, but consider the Plus+ model a little hard on your wallet — consider this slightly more affordable machine.

It features many similar features to its cousin, the Plus+ — including four switchable nozzles, 100-foot hose, and 2200 psi output. However, including an irreplaceable standard hose — opposed to the Plus+ ultra-soft replaceable — it lacks the longevity.

  • Easier on your bank account than the Plus+ model.
  • Fully wall-mountable.
  • Lacking hose durability, more suited to the intermittent user.
Grandfalls Pressure Washer PRO P155-G30
Should you demand a wall-mounted pressure washer, but feel you require a trade quality machine instead of the domestic-focused Plus+ — take a look at the Grandfalls PRO.

Targeting the professional user, compared to the Plus+, the PRO model boasts more brawn, a more durable induction motor, quieter operation, and a longer lifespan cycle. Although naturally, with all these higher specs, it hits your pocket a little harder.

  • 2500 psi compared to 2200 psi of the Plus+ model.
  • Lifespan of 8000 cycles, in contrast to the 3000 cycles of the Plus+.
  • Quiet — 82 dB opposed to the Plus+’s 93 dB.
If you’re a fan of the Grandfalls Plus+ high power output, but have no time for its novel wall-mounted design — consider this more traditional cart unit from Kärcher.

Knocking out 2000 psi, its brawn is comparable to the Plus+ — but that’s where the similarities end. Instead of nozzles, it comes with two different wands, the hose length is shorter than the Plus+ machine, and arrives with an onboard detergent tank.

  • Kinder on your pocket than the Grandfalls.
  • 25-foot hose, as opposed to the 100 feet of the Plus+.
  • Lower flow rate — 1.2 gpm compared to the Grandfalls’ 2.1 gpm.

Conclusion

For the serious domestic user who demands power, convenience, and practicality — the Grandfalls Pressure Washer Plus+ could be one of the best pressure washer machines currently available.

With its wall mounted pressure washer hose reel, it eliminates the usual hassles of continual floor unit or cart relocation. Smooth hose extension and retraction combined with auto-stop and uniform winding ensure effortless use.

And, with its choice of four power nozzles, safety-catch enabled trigger, and generous hose length — it’s as suited as a driveway pressure washer as it is as a vehicle or motor home power cleaner.

Admittedly, it may not have the durability to match pro-grade machines, and the seeming omission of power cable storage may be small downers for some users. But, for serious home operators who want the pinnacle in home power cleaning — take my advice and check out the Grandfalls Pressure Washer Plus+.
