WEN 3975 Review Summary:
Cutting metal could be both a nuisance and a pleasant experience; it all depends on how good your tool is. Many people lose a lot of nerves over time due to having an underpowered or low-quality machine.
On the other hand, there are people who are willing to pay a premium price for a model of questionable quality just because it comes from a respectable brand. Needless to say, both of these scenarios are unfavorable for the average user, especially if they are on a limited budget.
We are here to help you and alleviate the hassles of reading dozens of reviews and spending countless hours on research. In simpler terms, we already did that so you don’t have to. Our reviews are honest and unbiased which allows the user to get a full picture of what is good about a particular model and what’s not.
When it comes to the WEN 3975, it is a decent tool with some neat features and an affordable price. If you’re looking for something like that, keep reading and you might find enough information to make the final decision.

WEN 3975 – The Basics
If you’re looking for a compact and lightweight metal cutting bandsaw, the WEN 3975 is definitely a good one to look into. It offers smooth performance, useful features, and most importantly – good accuracy. On top of that, it’s a pretty simple machine meaning it doesn’t require years of experience. In fact, it’s quite user-friendly and can be used by both enthusiasts and professionals.
The beveling blade is also a nice addition because it allows you to cut angles from 0 up to 60 degrees. The adjustable blade speed ensures smoothness and high precision.
The thing that makes the design of this unit special is its compactness. In simpler terms, you can move the machine from place to place without breaking a sweat. Other metal-cutting units tend to weigh quite a lot and thus struggle with portability. This particular model is far from an immobile one.
The materials used in production are quite sturdy and able to withstand intense projects. Therefore, even if you’re a contractor that needs a high-quality machine that is capable of coping with demanding challenges, you can definitely count on this particular one.
The thing we would have liked seeing is a mechanism that transforms this model into a vertical one. Many other units have that ability, while this one doesn’t. It can open up approximately 75-80 degrees, but as you can see, it’s not fully vertical. It’s not a game-breaking issue by any means, but some people appreciate and put a lot of value in vertical options.
The motor features a decent amount of power and it doesn’t choke as some others do. It’s not the most powerful one on the market, but it certainly offers more than enough momentum to cut through different materials.
Tasks like cutting pipes and various metals are something this model thrives in. It’s specifically designed to cut through various metals thanks to the multi-speed setting. The user can fine-tune the blade speed and set it up to optimal performance thanks to the conveniently positioned speed control knob. The best thing about it is the fact that you don’t have to stop what you’re doing and hassle with the adjustments. Instead, you can tune it on the go.
Easy to use
Somewhat poor quality control
Things we liked about it
The ease of use and compactness are two main things we liked about this product. It is quite user-friendly and doesn’t require years of experience which allows you to work on a project even if you’re not an expert. However, we strongly recommend reading the user manual and taking safety precautions seriously, regardless of your expertise.
The other thing we liked is the price. While it’s not a cheap piece, it’s certainly worth checking out, even if you’re on a tight budget. The amount of useful features, as well as the overall quality of this unit, definitely justifies the price. On top of that, the blade tensioner is well-positioned and easy to get the hang of, which is usually not the case with some other models within the same price range.
Things we didn’t like
While WEN is a known brand in this industry, they tend to struggle with their quality control department. The inconsistency related to the quality control is not something that helps WEN to stay relevant and trustworthy. More than a few people complained about getting faulty units shipped to them, and even though it’s an easily solvable issue, it definitely isn’t pleasant.
What Users Say About The WEN 3975
People like the simplicity of WEN 3975. It’s not an absolute 5-star product, but it’s close. One should expect decent performance from this unit, even though it can struggle with particularly hard materials from time to time. The machine is well-made and it should last for years as long as you use it within its limits. If you’re an avid professional then you might want to look into some other benchtop models that come with more auxiliary features, but in case you’re an enthusiast – this model should fulfill most of your expectations.
The main question here is whether or not it’s worth investing in this model. While there is no simple answer to that question, the shortest one is –Yes. However, you should check its capabilities and features in order to see whether it meets your requirements.
In case you find its features acceptable, we do recommend it. As far as the precision and performance go, there’s not much we can complain about. It is a neat piece of equipment and it should be a good investment for most people. The overall quality of the unit is on a respectable level.
