Croc Survival Pocket Chainsaw Review Summary:
Whether you’re a devoted camper or a person that likes spending their free time away from home, there is a good chance that you’re going to need a pocket chainsaw. These things aren’t rare on the market, in fact, there are plenty of models to choose from. However, that doesn’t mean they are all worthy investments. More often than not, quite a bit of available models have a flaw or a downside. Sometimes it’s the price, while most of the time it’s the overall subpar build quality. Many people make a common mistake of purchasing the first thing they stumble upon which often times turns out to be a huge mistake.

Croc Survival Pocket Chainsaw – The Basics
This particular model is designed for anyone who’s looking for a decent pocket chainsaw at an affordable price. The 24-inch chain offers more than enough sharpness to cut through anything you put in front of it, as long as it’s within limits. As far as the build quality goes, it’s better than we expected. However, this model is made in the USA; meaning the good quality is to be expected.
One of the best things about these chainsaws, in general, is their versatility. On top of that, they are quite easy to use and carry around wherever you go. Because a vast majority of these saws have negligible weight, it’s quite easy to carry them around. When it comes to downsides, one of the biggest ones is the fact that this model does cause a certain level of fatigue and exhaustion.

The Features
The design
The design is okay, but there is not much standing out in comparison to some other models. In other words, it’s a pretty simple and conventional design made of a heat-treated chain and a pair of nylon hand grips. While we usually prefer plastic grips, it’s all a matter of personal preferences. As far as we are concerned, the nylon handles are okay in most cases. The only thing they lack is ergonomics.
When it comes to ideal applications, you can expect a pretty good performance out of this model as long as you are in a good physical shape. Cutting small branches, firewood, and trimming trees isn’t an issue for this pocket saw. On the other hand, don’t expect it to cope well with massive projects because it’s not foreseen for that. You could cut a thick branch in theory, but it takes a lot of time and effort.
In order to reduce the impact on your muscles, we recommend including another person. Once two individuals are utilizing one pocket chainsaw, it’s much easier to tackle a task and reduce downtime caused by fatigue.
Safety
There aren’t many safety mechanisms involved here, but it’s an expected thing due to obvious reasons. However, that doesn’t mean you should forget about wearing safety equipment. We strongly recommend that you use protective gloves as well as goggles in order to minimize the chances of injury. On top of that, make sure you read the user manual before utilizing your new tool for the first time.

Pros:
Good quality
Easy to use
Pouch included
Cons:
Requires a lot of energy
Things we liked about it
The biggest advantage of this unit is its simplicity. Instead of having to think about lubrication, sharpening, and maintenance, all you have to do is think about your physical shape. A prototype of this model was only available to military personnel not long ago, but it’s now commercially available. While it may not sound like a significant advantage, we think it’s worth mentioning nonetheless.
One of the things many people like is the fact that it’s made in the United States. The models coming from the Asian market are usually frowned upon, despite the fact that it doesn’t make any sense. On the other hand, you can rest assured that this unit goes through rigorous quality control before it hits the market.
Things we didn’t like
The cutting edges are only on the side of the chain. It means that the chainsaw has to be positioned correctly in order to perform at an optimal level. People who have poor eyesight might find this annoying, and some even said it was a deal-breaker for them. The chain can get twisted if you don’t position it correctly which also complicates the situation even more.
Some people noticed that it could be a nuisance to disentangle the chain after taking it out from the pouch. Because the teeth on the chain engage with each other inside the pouch, there is a possibility of tangling which isn’t a good experience for the user, to say the least.
What Users Say About The Croc Survival Pocket Chainsaw
Hobbyists love this pocket chainsaw. While it may not be the best offer on the market, it still offers quite a bit of features and capabilities. It’s affordable, lightweight, and made to last. Most people that manage to find these three elements in a single model usually decide to invest.

Conclusion
As you can tell, this unit is designed to cater to a specific group of individuals such as campers, hikers, and survival enthusiasts. If you’re looking for something that is going to cope with massive trees, this isn’t the best solution for you. On the other hand, if you want to add a trustworthy tool to your inventory, this model might be a good choice.
One cannot say it doesn’t come with a few downsides, but it’s nothing you can’t overcome in a matter of hours or days. Remember to account your own physical readiness when buying these tools because they tend to leave a mark on your muscles.
