Grizzly G0715P Review Summary:

Specifications:

  • Weight – 450 pounds
  • Dimensions – 26 x 30 x 43 inches
  • Power source – corded
  • Motor – 2 HP

Grizzly G0715P – The Basics

As far as the sheer power goes, this model is somewhere in the middle between powerful and weak. In other words, the 2HP motor will do its job well, but it’s not foreseen for particularly dense wood. The thing that makes this model special is the fact that it offers the best of both contractor and cabinet saws. In simpler words, it’s a true hybrid saw with a ton of additional features.

Safety is pretty neat, the accuracy is okay, and the design is great. The materials used in production are reliable, sturdy, and able to withstand a lot of stress. Therefore, if you’re a devoted professional, rest assured that it will meet your expectations and perform as advertised.

The only thing that might not be so great about it is the price. One cannot say it’s a cheap model, but it’s definitely affordable and worth investing in. As you can assume, it pays itself off eventually.

The Features

The design

As we already said, the design is excellent. Every single component that’s included is positioned well and for maximum efficiency. The tabletop area is quite spacious, and you definitely won’t have issues with the lack of free space. Furthermore, the miter gauge and T-glide fence are well-designed and stable. It may sound pretty irrelevant to some people, but if you consider the fact that most of these units struggle with the quality of included components, it’s quite a refreshment to see a well-designed one.

One more notable thing is the power transfer of this model. It features a serpentine belt which is responsible for the quiet operation. One cannot say it’s a silent machine, but it’s far quieter than its competitors. The table is made of cast iron which is a durable and reliable material able to withstand hits and bumps without getting too much damage.

Safety

The interchangeable riving knife is a great safety feature. It keeps you safe during non-through operations that require you to take the blade guard off. The anti-kickback mechanism is well-positioned and quite effective. As you may know, the anti-kickback is one of the most important safety aspects of every heavy-duty hybrid saw, and it must be designed precisely.

The On/Off switch is large and accessible. Therefore, if you ever find yourself in any predicament, shutting the machine off is quite easy and quick.

Dust collecting

This model has a dust-collecting port, and it’s pretty useful. Many other units feature a collecting port, but it’s mainly for aesthetical purposes. However, this one actually works quite well. Also, you don’t need to invest in a super-expensive vacuum. Instead, you can hook any affordable one onto the port, and it should do the job. Bear in mind; regular maintenance is a huge part of the whole equation.

Things we liked about it

There are plenty things to like when it comes to the Grizzly G0715P. However, the few most important ones are safety, convenient design, and the included measuring instruments. It’s not a secret that many models struggle with the quality of the miter gauge, and it can be quite a predicament sometimes. Luckily, this unit offers a stable and reliable miter gauge meaning you don’t have to stress about it too much.

The safety is at a high level, although they could have included more safety features and mechanisms. However, as long as you follow some of the basic safety rules, you shouldn’t have any issues whatsoever.

Q

Things we didn’t like

It’s quite hard to find the downsides of this machine. In fact, most complaints are directed to shipping companies instead of the manufacturer. As far as the performance goes, it does its job quite well. As a matter of fact, you can rest assured that it will perform as advertised.

Absolute beginners should probably skip this unit. It isn’t a hard one to operate, but it does need frequent adjustments and fine-tuning. If you don’t know how to adjust a heavy-duty machine, you’re going to have a bad time. However, it’s not a complicated thing to master; therefore, you can try to research the basic principles and use the knowledge to setup the machine properly.

What Do Users Say About The Grizzly G0715P

The reactions are mainly positive. There were a few complaints about the overall weight of this unit and its lack of portability, but you cannot expect a 450-pound machine to have any mobility. Apart from the hefty weight, people seem to like this unit a lot. Some don’t like its premium price, but it’s well-worth the money, to say the least. It’s a grade-A machine, sparing money is something you should not think about in the first place.

Grizzly G0715P

Conclusion

If you’re looking for a high-quality hybrid table saw, the G0715P might be a great solution. It has everything you’ll ever need for processing wood of any density without any hassle. It’s also precise, affordable, and most importantly – efficient. DIY-ers might stumble upon a few predicaments while assembling and adjusting the machine, but once you overcome that step, you’ll unlock the full potential of it. It’s made of quality materials meaning you don’t have to think about buying another one for at least a couple of years.
