Roberts Model 10-600 – The Basics
This gun is great for upholstery, DIY projects, and even some professional tasks. It’s well-built, sturdy, and durable. Using this unit is a piece of cake, even if you don’t have any previous experience with these tools. As long as you follow some basic rules from the user manual, you shouldn’t have an issue with this unit.
The amount of sheer power is pretty impressive, to say the least. 15-amps of current are more than enough to drive a staple right through dense wood like a hot knife through butter. Apart from being pretty powerful, it’s quite safe. One would expect it to have tons of safety mechanisms because of its high-power solenoid, but it doesn’t. However, that doesn’t mean it’s not safe for use. In fact, it’s among the safest ones on the market.
Apart from being ergonomic, it’s also pretty durable, to say the least. The design is probably one of the main trumps of this particular model. While other electric staplers look pretty much similar to each other, this one stands out as an exception. The rubberized handle ensures a firm grip for people who tend to get sweaty hands. It goes to show that it’s also designed for large-sized projects.
The cord is twelve feet long, which is quite good. Most other units have around eight feet of cord length. Eliminating the need for extension cords alleviates the hassle of using this tool in a large area. For example, if you want to reupholster an old couch in the middle of your backyard, you can do it without thinking about extension cords. While it’s a minor advantage, it’s still worth mentioning.
As we already said, one of the crucial elements of this model is its sheer power output. Many other ones usually struggle with the lack of amperage or wattage, but it’s not the case with the Roberts Model 10-600. As you can see, it operates on 120V meaning it doesn’t work in Europe or any other part of the world which uses the 220V grid. It may be considered as a disadvantage, but it’s not a big one, especially if you’re from the United States.
Because it’s a particularly powerful gun, it excels when it comes to demanding tasks. The greatest thing about it is the fact that you don’t have to worry about it dying on you in the middle of a project. Whether you’re planning to reupholster some old furniture, install wooden tiles, or fix the fence, it doesn’t matter; the Roberts Model 10-600 is ready to cope with the task at all times.
Things we liked about it
We cannot emphasize enough how valuable and useful it is to have a powerful tool in your hands. It may not be the best-looking one out there, but it’s certainly among the toughest. As far as we are concerned, its capability to tackle any project regardless of its size is the main advantage of this particular unit.
Apart from that, the ergonomic design helps a lot, especially if you’re dealing with a big project. It doesn’t matter whether you need to put 100 or 1000 staples in a piece of wood; it’s always going to perform with the same intensity and quality. Moreover, you won’t get tired after a couple of hundred staples thanks to the ergonomic design.
Things we didn’t like
The first thing we didn’t like is the weight. With its 7.3 pounds of weight, it cannot be regarded as a light tool, to say the least. People who have massive projects in mind should probably think about the weight before investing money. If you’re not in a good physical shape, there could be some fatigue problem due to the heaviness of this unit. However, it’s an easily solvable thing. All you have to do is take a few breaks during your work, and you should be fine. You are going to lose some time, but you’ll catch up thanks to the flawless performance of the Roberts Model 10-600.
General user impressions
Individuals who bought this unit seem very pleased with its performance. Some of them do think it’s quite heavy, but it’s an expected impression.
The thing people seem to like the most is the length of the cord. It is four feet above standard which is great news for people who plan on doing some projects out in the open.
When it comes to high-quality electric staplers, this one is near the top. It has everything you’ll ever need for most of your planned projects. As we said, it’s blessed with a high-power solenoid which allows it to penetrate dense and hard wood. As you can assume, it will go through almost any wood, regardless of its stiffness and density.
If you’re on a limited budget, don’t hesitate to check this model out. It doesn’t cost much, and it offers a ton of useful features. It does come with a few shortcomings, but it’s nothing you can’t deal with. On the other hand, if you’re searching for something more aesthetically appealing, check our other reviews out.
