Hitachi N5024A2 – The Basics
When it comes to lightweight and well-balanced tools, this particular one is near the top. As you can assume, the design is quite important, especially if you’re expecting good performance. Luckily, this model is very well-designed with a ton of auxiliary safety mechanisms which alleviate the use. It’s safe to say that the Hitachi N5024A2 works great both for beginners and professionals.
The durability is also at a pretty high level thanks to the stainless steel parts. Also, it doesn’t cost much meaning you won’t have to worry about your budget. It’s a convenient piece of equipment, and every devoted DIY-er should own one.
Hitachi N5024A2 Features
One of the most notable things about this staple gun is its design. While many other models on the market have pretty much the same design, this one is slightly different. The firing mechanism is engineered well, and you won’t have any issues with it. The trigger isn’t as sensitive as one would expect, but that’s a matter of personal preferences. Safety-wise, having stiffer triggers means less accidental discharges.
The rubberized handle ensures a firm grip, even for people who are prone to sweating. Overall, it’s a stable, lightweight, and effective unit.
Even though many people don’t see the quick clear function as a massive advantage, it’s still worth mentioning, especially if you’re someone who’s dealing with massive projects. It’s not a secret that these units can jam from time to time, but the way the company came to a solution is quite important. This particular model offers a quick clear mechanism which allows you to unjam the tool without any downtime. In simpler words, unjamming this stapler takes only a couple of seconds. Apart from saving a lot of time, you will also save a lot of nerves.
The power source
Pneumatic staple guns require an air compressor in order to operate. If you don’t own one, it could be a pretty costly issue. However, the Hitachi N5024A2 operates on around 80 PSI. Therefore, any affordable compressor that can deliver up to 120 PSI will do the job. In other words, you don’t have to invest a ton of money for the power source thanks to the low requirements of this unit.
Although it is recommended that you use high-quality air compressors, it’s not mandatory; a cheaper model will work fine.
Things we liked about it
There are a lot of things we liked about this model. The first one is definitely the design. It looks very stable, durable, and reliable. Although we haven’t had much time to test it ourselves, it seems like a pretty efficient product. Some of the additional mechanisms also come in handy. For example, the quick reload system works great. Furthermore, the unit can hold up to 157 staples meaning you won’t have to reload as often.
Weight is another important factor with these tools. There are some that can weigh up to 8 pounds and they are notorious for causing fatigue and joint pains, especially if you’re doing a big project. However, this stapler is quite light which allows you to work for longer and do the job quicker.
Things we didn’t like
The first thing we found underwhelming is the fact that it works with specialized supplies. In simpler words, even though it can operate with any 1-inch crown staples, it works best with Senco Style staples. It’s strongly recommended that you avoid buying any other type. The problem is in the accessibility of these supplies. Many hardware stores simply don’t sell these, and your safest bet is to buy the supplies via Amazon.
Other than that, there are no major shortcomings. One could argue about the hefty price, but you cannot expect a grade-A product to cost a couple of bucks. If your budget allows it, don’t hesitate to invest, it’s worth it.
General user impressions
Most of the reviews on the Internet are positive. Of course, there are some negative ones, but that’s also expected. The key is in the ratio between negative and positive impressions. As far as we could see, a vast majority of reviews are indeed positive.
Some people received faulty products right out of the box which indicates the Hitachi’s poor quality control. Even though there weren’t many cases of bad shipments, it’s still worth mentioning so that you know what to expect if you opt for this particular model.
After all, it’s all up to you. If you have a good budget, don’t hesitate to check the Hitachi N5024A2. It may cost a bit more than the other models on our list, but it’s for a good reason. On the other hand, if you’re not seeking for a particularly heavy duty tool, feel free to check out some other units we reviewed. There are a couple of them that offer similar features for a much more affordable price.
The key is to find something that meets your needs. If you think this product is capable of coping with your planned projects, there’s nothing more to think about.
