The BDCMS20 MOUSE is a compact tool used for sanding wood. It’s very lightweight and effortless to operate. The device works with the standard 20V MAX battery from the black and decker tool set. The control is amazing, and the detail finger attachment can deal with those hard to reach spaces with ease.

So, if you spend a lot of time working on old doors or chairs, or any other type of furniture restoration, you definitely need this tool. The sanding is very gentle, so you don’t have to worry about damaging your workpiece. Let’s get to the details.
The design of the BDCMS20 is just great! It has the same finish as the other Black & Decker 20 MAX tools. It’s a compact tool that’s easy to carry, store, and operate. The dimensions are 4x10x9 inches, making it one of the most compact sanders we’ve ever seen. You can spend hours or even days sanding wooden pieces without feeling any fatigue or exhaustion because of its low weight. The cleanup time is also reduced due to the dust collector that captures most of the dust.
It’s a tool welcomed by both amateur and professional carpenters. It offers a mix of high-performance, maneuverability, and lots of power. The tool is very ergonomic and sits well in the hands. The design makes it easy to control the sanding, but also get in those tight spots where other tools can’t. You can use the tool for many different applications, and it will help you make short work of whatever sanding project you might have going on. With the maximum speed of 12000 oscillations per minute, there is little that this machine can’t do.
The BDCMS20 is powered by the standard Black & Decker 20V MAX Lithium-Ion battery. Unlike some other tools from the black and decker tool set, this one does come with the 20V Max battery included. The battery is known to be very strong, and it holds a charge for up to 18 months if not used. The charger is included to.
Apart from the sander, battery, and charger, the box also contains a detail finger attachment that helps reach tight spaces, two sheets of sandpaper, one sheet detail finger paper, and four extra sheets of tip paper ideal for refinishing cabinets, doors, furniture, and rust removal.

Things we liked about it
We liked the BDCMS20 MOUSE Detailed sander because it has a broad application and it’s good for any sanding job. That’s why this tool is trendy among professionals and amateurs alike.
It’s very compact and lightweight, so it’s easy to maneuver, even when you have to work on a complicated piece of furniture. The detail finger paper can get into the smallest cracks, which is also a useful feature. Operating the machine is almost effortless, so we didn’t get tired after hours of sanding.
The dust collector made a big difference while we were sanding. The dust didn’t fly around, it didn’t get in our eyes, and we didn’t have to sweep the entire garage when we were done. We emptied the collector every time it got full and continued our work in seconds.
We tried sanding old paint, rust, tough wood, and some old chairs, and the BDCMS20 performed better than we expected. The 12000 OPM it provides will devour any old paint with ease, making this tool perfect for old furniture restoration. Of course, there’s no cable to jump over while working and that makes things even easier.
Things we didn’t like
When used for an extended period of times on high settings, the battery dies in about 15 minutes. Once you deplete the batteries, charging takes about 3 to 4 hours, and that can put your project on hold. So, if you’re planning to sand stuff all day long, you should get a couple of replacement batteries; otherwise, you might be done before you even begin.
Most people who use the BDCMS20 MOUSE detail sander are happy with the performance. They praise the compact size and ease of use the most. This model by Black and Decker is one of the most affordable on the market, and people like that too. The only thing some of them didn’t like was the battery life, but you can’t expect it to work for hours at a time without a recharge. This sander is ideal for small home projects. It’s just not designed for heavy-duty industrial use.
If woodworking is your hobby, or if you want to restore some old piece of furniture around the house, the BDCMS20 MOUSE® Detail Sander will be a tool you will use a lot. It has enough power to make quick work of an otherwise exhausting and time-consuming sanding job.
The sander comes with some accessories designed to help you get those hard to reach spots too. It’s an excellent power tool for every garage in the neighborhood.
