Freeman PFWS 20 Gauge – The Basics

As far as the performance goes, this particular model is one of the best we’ve covered. It’s suitable both for professionals and beginners meaning it’s quite a versatile model. It uses supplies that are reasonably easy to find. It might not be an important issue to some, but many people appreciate the fact that they can find the needed supplies in the nearest hardware store instead of ordering them online and waiting for the shipment.

Light weight and stability are the two main advantages of this unit. The benefits are obvious – you won’t have to take as many breaks, and misfires aren’t as frequent as in some other models on the market. Overall, it’s a convenient stapler with a lot of useful and helpful features and mechanisms.

The Features

The design

Even though a vast majority of people doesn’t care much about the design, it’s actually a pretty important thing. This device is well-designed and ergonomically shaped. In simpler words, it’s easy to use, even if you don’t have any experience with pneumatic tools.

The handle is coated meaning you won’t experience any slipping when your hands get sweaty – hence the stability. As we all know, safety is of utmost importance when it comes to using heavy duty devices. Luckily, this one has all the precautionary safety measures integrated within the unit. Therefore, there is a minimal chance of accidental discharges and other potentially dangerous occurrences. However, don’t forget to wear safety equipment, regardless of the high security levels.

Non-marring tip

We cannot emphasize enough how useful this feature is. For example, if you’re working with scratch-sensitive surfaces, you probably know how devastating it is when you realize that you’ve caused damage to it by using the gun directly on the surface. However, this particular model has an innovative non-marring tip which prevents these things from happening. Therefore, even if you’re processing a surface that’s worth thousands of dollars, there is no need to worry thanks to this well-placed protective element.

Ease of use

While it sounds quite complicated and complex, it’s not. Make sure that you read the user manual before first use, and there shouldn’t be any issues whatsoever. The working principle is as simple as it gets – connect the Freeman PFWS to a power source, load it with supplies, and that’s it!

Power source

This stapler uses air as a source of power. Therefore, you have to have a separate air compressor in order to make it work. Luckily, it doesn’t require a high-end compressor meaning you can get any unit that’s capable of delivering up to 120 PSI, and it should work fine.

R

Things we liked about it

There are many things we like about this particular product. The first and most obvious one is the versatility of it. In other words, it’s not specifically designed for upholstery only, but can cope with some other tasks such as roofing, insulation, and more.

The other thing has to be the price. One would expect a pretty hefty price for a high-quality product. However, we’ve stumbled upon a pleasant surprise – it’s affordable. One could call it cheap, but it’s a wrong word because it’s a synonym for poor quality which is not the case here.

The non-marring tip and work contact element are two exceptionally useful features.

Q

Things we didn’t like

It doesn’t come with a hard case included. Although it’s not a major downside, it’s still worth mentioning it so that you know what to expect. Our advice for you is to get a hold of any hard case if you’re planning to buy this unit and store it there. You’ll prolong its lifespan, and you’ll also know exactly where it is at all times.

Also, the stapler is a bit touchy, and it takes some practice to get a hold of it. It’s only an issue if you never had a chance to work with pneumatic staplers. Luckily, it doesn’t take long before you master the working principle of it.
